Rent Stabilized Tenant Prevails Over Landlord, Gets Fees
In a case that resulted in two decisions reported in the New York Law Journal, a rent stabilized tenant first defeated a personal use proceeding based upon a vitiated Golub notice. See Schippers v. Mass, 26 Housing Ct. Rptr. 599A (Civ. Ct. Kings Co. 1998), reported in the New York Law Journal on November 4, 1998. The tenant was then awarded attorneys' fees against the landlord. See Schippers v. Mass, 27 Housing Ct. Rptr. 100B (Civ. Ct. Kings Co. 1999), reported in the New York Law Journal on February 24, 1999.
